Taste the Difference!

What makes a Bogue Sound Watermelon?

Folks call us often, asking "where can I get Bogue Sound Watermelon seeds?"  Our melons are all sorts of varieties...  not "a" variety.

What makes them special and so deliciously sweet and tasty is the sandy soil we grow in, around the White Oak River Basin...

with just the right sunshine and salt air.

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE QUALITY!

The Bogue Sound region is the only place where nature reflects in a watermelon so unique that people come from miles around to experience the sweet taste of Bogue Sound Watermelons.  This is because of our sandy soil and salty air climate.

Our melons really are a special NC Crystal Coast treat!

HOW DO I KNOW I'M BUYING A BOGUE SOUND WATERMELON?

Every watermelon from Bogue Sound has a distinct identity label. This is your assurance you're buying one of the sweetest melons

on the market.   #LookForTheLabel

WHERE CAN I FIND THESE SPECIAL BOGUE SOUND WATERMELONS?

Along with our member farms, there are roadside stands that sell our melons during the season. Locations are listed here.

Our season runs from about late June into late August/early September.

Since the 2006 growing season, our melons have been available in local  grocers, restaurants and military commissaries.  If you don't see them in your market, ask your produce manager for

Bogue Sound Watermelons! We do have some folks who

buy wholesale to take to their areas in and around North Carolina, so you might get lucky and find in other places too.

ARE BOGUE SOUND WATERMELONS NUTRITIOUS?

The American Heart Association has recognized watermelon's nutritional properties by giving it the "Healthly Heart" seal of approval.  Watermelons contain lycopene that may help reduce the risk of prostate cancer. In fact, watermelons are the leader in lycopene among fresh fruits and vegetables. Watermelon is virtually fat free, nutritionally low in calories and considered an ideal health food.

Great for hydration, it's great for picnics, camping events, socials, special beach trips, and a must for summer vacations!

Be sure to carry some home when visiting us here in the

Crystal Coast area of North Carolina!
